It is a common fact that most of us experience financial, emotional, and physical stress from the daily events that life brings us. Combine this with 4 year old girls, and it only makes things worse. Right now, we are battling the question, what do we do about preschool.
Here are our options:
1.) Go to a great preschool in the area and struggle every month to pay tuition,
2.) Go to more of a play/socialize preschool for a third of the cost and much less hours, or
3.) Give up the thought of sending them to preschool.
Please give me your feedback and suggestions.

Look in local co-op preschools. Great schools for very cheap, only catch is you volunteer your time (x's 3!)
Also check with your school district or local rec center/boys girls club.
Good luck! There are good ones out there ... diamonds int he rough if you will!
I do know from experience, if they don't have some sort of preschool it definitely shows in Kindergarten :(
You might also check with your school district to see if they have a "count your kid in" type of program. My grandson (who is PDD-NOS) failed every test for his age group when he was three so he went to our local elementary school every afternoon during the school year for preschool and developmental "extras." (He did this for two years and is now starting kindergarten in a regular classroom setting, but will have an aid for 180 minutes of each day.)
For each of the children in the program who were special needs they also had a "role model" child. If it's available, maybe you could get on the list for your girls to be role models in a preschool class through the school system.
I'm not sure what kind of charge it was for the role model families (we had no cost) but it was pretty minimal.

Soapymomponders, our school does have this program as well. However, when we checked it out, we did not qualify. I guess that is a good thing, but it would have been great if they did.
